We’re having a holiday benefit. Come check out the John Lee collection donated to help Outsound raise money for our programs and enjoy the music of Amanda Chaudhary and Tri-Cornered Tent Show. Join the party at Vamp!!

This past summer John Lee the founder of bayimproviser.com and avid supporter of the greater San Francisco Bay Area creative music scene donated a large portion of his vinyl record collection of contemporary and avant-garde jazz to Outsound. Many of these records are rare and most are in almost mint condition purchased at the time of first pressing during the 1980’s to present.

Amanda Chaudhary is a composer and performer specializing in contemporary and electronic music; a jazz keyboardist, and visual/sound artist. She performs regularly around the Bay Area and beyond, both solo and with various bands and ensembles. Her solo work involves experimenting with innovative sounds via analog synthesis and custom software with computers and mobile devices for new modes of expressive musical performance. She often incorporates folk and toy instruments from around the world, along with jazz, dance music and other idiomatic styles into her visually captivating performances.
Her ensemble projects include MMB, an “avant-funk” band; Census Designated Place, a jazz and synth exploration; and Pitta of the Mind, an experimental music-and-poetry duo. She is also a member of the band Vacuum Tree Head. As a board member for Outsound Presents and Kearny Street Workshop, she is a supporter of emerging artists in music and visual art.
Amanda is also the author of the popular blog CatSynth, where she discusses music and art (and cats).
